RJ Ripper
The chaotic streets of Kathmandu may not seem like a typical breeding ground for world-class mountain bikers, but then again nothing is typical about Rajesh (RJ) Magar and his beat-up clunker.
I stumbled across a short online article highlighting parts of RJ’s story in early 2017. Having been a professional MTB racer myself for over a decade, and turned filmmaker in the last few years, this was a story that hit close to home.
Once I heard of RJ, I knew I had to go to Nepal, ride with him, and help get his story out to the world. He’s got big plans, and I’m glad more people will know about them now. It’s been humbling to see how the cycling and outdoor communities have embraced him and his story.
